Since y’all are in the giving spirit, here is another great opportunity to support our young people. This cause is especially near and dear to my heart because it exposes young people to travel and other cultures.
I met Ms.Pereira in Spanish class during our freshman year at #CAU and we then had our first study abroad experience in Ecuador at the tender age of 18, drinking boxed wine in the streets of Guayaquil. But I digress...🤣🤣
She is now a Spanish teacher at BEST Academy, an all boys school in Atlanta, and each year takes a group of students on a study abroad trip. I have been a “chaperone” on two of the trips, to Nicaragua and also Costa Rica. Y’all know I wasn’t really chaperoning anything, but the chance to travel with teenage boys from Bankhead(Hollowell) and do yoga with them in Nicaragua was LIFE CHANGING 🤣🤣
This year, they are going to Spain, a place especially near and dear to my heart. Please bless these young men to see the world if you feel so inclined. 🤗
They've almost reached their goal!
Agape is where I discovered my true purpose over the course of 4 years. When I left in September 2018, I was the Director of Education and Volunteer Services. Therefore, my suggested ways to give are of both your time and financial resources. You cannot know the true mission of Agape without meeting the children.
In my former life, I was on the board of Create Your Dreams (CYD), an awesome organization I learned about from my mentor. CYD can always use more volunteers a(s well as financial resources) so please click the link to learn more.
